Did you know?
As some of you might know, I’m a converted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, almost seven years running. I’ve always believed in God. But feel I have grown closer to Him in these last several years.
So it’s encouraged for families to have something called FHE, or Family Home Evening on Mondays. This often includes prayers, singing, a lesson about a little section of the scriptures, activity, and a treat with, obviously, your family. My kids look forward to this time together.
For Monday’s FHE, my family and I discussed John 4:14. What is the living water?
The living water is the gospel of Jesus Christ!
The living water can bring us everlasting life!
The fountain of living water [is] a representation of God’s love (1 Nephi 11:25)
My kids concluded that Jesus compared his gospel to living water, because water is pure, clear, and needed to sustain life. And “whosoever drinkers of this water will never thirst again” (John 4:13)
I know the gospel is true and that Jesus was sent to not only suffer and die for our sins, but to use the short life he had to teach us how to return to our Heavenly Father. And that way is through Christ! I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Like the FHE board idea?
Oh and by the way, if you’re interested with how I made the FHE Board, it was quite simple. I used an old cabinet door, sprayed the border with white spray paint and the inner portion with chalkboard spray paint. You can use regular chalk, but I used chalk markers. My family also consists of 8 individuals, so I added 8 large push pins at the bottom to place the personalized key chains. The time it took was pretty short, and though I had the cabinet door on hand (aka free), I spent maybe around $12-15 for all of the supplies.
Have a fantastic week, everyone! Be safe with all of the crazy weather the good ole USA is having.
