I’m a huge fan of the PopSugar Subscription box, and have had an amazing opportunity to check it out in the past months for myself in exchange of my thoughts on it. This January box didn’t disappoint. This box included a plethora of fun products us ladies would enjoy pampering ourself up with. Here’s what this box included:

  • Manduka Yoga Mat Towel
  • Dean & Deluca Peppermint Loose Leaf Tea
  • Glade Candle (which smells amazing, by the way!)
  • May Designs Desk Calendar & Notecard
  • Goldfaden MD Resurfacing Peel
  • Daily Concepts Hair Wrap Towel
  • SourceBooks, Inc Instant Happy Notes

The Instant Happy Notes from SourceBooks is a great gift idea! Perfect for pick-me-ups, this note pad includes 101 short, but sweet self-adhesive messages that are sure to make your day more positive! I know often times my husband gets in a funk during the day, so I will stick one of these happy notes to his computer and it leaves a smile on his face – something I will never get tired of seeing!

While I love all of the products in the subscription box, the one that stood out the most to me was the peppermint loose leaf tea. I only drink herbal tea (being LDS), so this was right up my alley! Peppermint has been known to help with stress, nausea, colds, as well as other discomforts, so I couldn’t wait to try it. However, because I don’t drink tea often, I didn’t have the necessary infusing baskets or bags to try it out. I was determined though! That’s when I tried to make my own tea bags. It ended up saving me money in the end.

I purchased coffee filters at my local grocery store (Price Cutter) for only $0.80 for 100 ct. Basically, that was the only purchase I had to make. I had the rest on hand. And it doesn’t take long at all to make one. I’d suggest spending 10-15 minutes and make a handful of them, so you’ll have them on hand.

Here’s how to make your own tea bag! It worked like a charm!

What you need:

  • Loose tea leaves (I used Dean & Deluca Peppermint Tea)
  • Coffee Filters
  • Teaspoon
  • Scissors
  • Thick string (4-5 inches each)
  • Stapler
  • cardstock paper (cut into squares)

Be sure to staple one end of the string to the folded corners, and the other end to a cardstock square. The end result is quite cool, and was super cheap and fast to make! I was able to enjoy my peppermint tea in no time! You can drink it straight, or add sugar or honey to sweeten the flavor.
