I love using my waffle iron, not just for making breakfast waffles, but to make other different kinds of fun foods for my kids. For dinner this evening, I tried out my waffle maker to create pepperoni pizza waffles. My kids got excited! Here’s what you need:
Shredded Cheese of your choice (I used colby & monterey jack)
pasta or pizza sauce (I used Ragu)
1. Roll out and separate the crescent rolls
2. Put toppings on one roll
3. Use another roll on the top and secure the toppings
4. Place in waffle maker for 2 minutes, or until golden brown
5. Serve with pizza sauce for dunking
Two cans of crescent rolls make a total of 8 pizza waffles. Each pizza waffle included between 4-6 turkey pepperoni, and two tablespoons of shredded cheese (amounts may vary). This amount was enough for my family of 7 (minus the newborn) to eat, and roughly took 15-20 minutes to prepare and cook this meal.
Let us know if you try this recipe, or if you have before. Did you try other toppings, such as sausage or veggies?
