I honestly have to give it to Nutrisystem for getting me on the right track. When I weighed myself this morning, I was surprised to see that I lost over 1 lb (which is the recommended weight loss goal – 1-2 lbs weekly). I ate brownies, homemade bean dip and pizza this past week…how could I have still lost weight?
Here’s the kicker…I portion-sized it! I stopped eating when I was satisfied, not when I was stuffed.
I stepped out of the box a few times this week. That’s not saying that I was off the NS meals, because I ate those most of the time. I can’t stand most of the breakfast items…although I am very open to at least trying them, many times, I end up throwing it away. The taste is like cardboard with sweet icing. However…some of my favorite meals were the pizza and the Italian Style Turkey & Italian Sausage Melt. I would often add sautéed onions, black olives and green peppers to my meals (an additional 20 calories) and make it a bit more colorful.
I have to admit that I love the Nutrisystem desserts, like the chocolate fudge bar and brownie ice cream. This past week, I tried the Almond Coconut bar…and it was oh-so tasty!! My hopes and dreams were a bit crushed when I found out that there was only ONE in my meal box. I’m sure I’ll be just fine with their other treats, though. 🙂
Please wish me luck as I go into week 4. I want to continue to with my portion sizing.
